  • He is here!

    Dylan Indigo

    8 lbs

And he gave quite a fight!

They had to pry the little monkey from my ribs with suction cups and nurses bearing down hard on my ribs. It was quite an experience.

He is a very hairy little man with little to no distinction between eyebrow and hairline. We have been calling him the little monkey. My mother had brought him a little monkey for Christmas last year and it has been with him the whole way.

Georgia is slowly arriving at an understanding of what this all means. It was quite a shock for her to go to see Mama in the hospital and see a baby suckling.  After all Georgia has been going through a pretty big fascination with my breasts over the last few months. She took one look at me and the baby then turned to Dwayne and said, “I wanna go.”.  We explained that the baby is her brother and that he came from mama’s belly and that his name is Dylan. Then she wanted to feed him some Cheetos, I figured that meant everything was cool.

Later, when Dwayne, Katie and Georgia returned for a visit, Georgia was walking down the hallway with her shirt hiked up saying, “Push the baby out of my belly.” With hand gestures.

She has been enamored with his little fingers and little ears and little feet and all of his little parts.  She cried with him when I changed his diaper in front of her. She hugs and kisses him every chance she gets. I think it is going to be good.
We were discharged on Sunday after the circumcision. All I can say is “Ew, yuck.”

The dogs were next to meet the new addition to the family. Dwayne brought him in and just lie we did with Georgia, he knelt down on the floor with Dylan. Taco sniffed and Savannah sniffed and gave a gentle lick on the cheek. He apparently got the seal of approval from the dogs.

We are all doing fine, I miss the hospital bed and its neato tricks, I did get some nice pain meds that are keeping me mobile. Dylan struggled last night with his lack of foreskin situation, which in turn kept Dwayne and I up all night, I bottle fed him formula and managed to get him to sleep. My milk dropped in this morning so I have been alternating. I have decided that I do not want to pursue breast feeding. I also do not want to discuss or feel like I need to justify my decision. Please, out of respect for me, don’t mention breast feeding, as I am a little sensitive about it.

I have more to say, yet I lack clarity of mind and quite honestly, time to write.

I want to get down to the pics.
