  • Whew!

I am getting close to going back to work. I am trying to get a lot of things done before I go back such as working on my tan. Actually, I have been doing a lot of gardening, in the veggie garden and the flower garden. It is really easy to set up the baby monitor and run into the house when Dylan needs servicing. Little Georgia is my little helper. Yesterday, I had the two of them on Dylan’s quilt, under the tree in the front yard sleeping when Dwayne got home from work. It was so cute. I should have taken a pic but I forgot to.

I tackled the jungle that was our front yard and reduced our 10 ft flower beds down to a more realistic size, and the shape of the new flower bed is kinda sexy. I was able to share some plants from the yard with my neighbor Deb, who lives right next door. I also took some Irises to the Latino family who recently moved in. I wish the lady of the house spoke more English, or I spoke Spanish/Portuguese(?) because her veggie garden is BOOMING and mine is just beeping. I would like to compare notes. It must be that magic machete I always see her using.

I am excited about the front yard, it really looks good.

I took Georgia to the community pool last weekend. It was absolutely fantasic. It was such a joy to take her. She had a hard time trying to comprehend that the water was deeper than she is tall. Her Grandma Bell bought her a little kids safety swim suit so I tried to bob her around and let her see that the water was over her head. She eventually understood but it didn’t stop her from trying to jump into the water that was over her head. I followed her around like a puppy dog.

Dylan…well, he mainly …eats, then sleeps, then wakes up, and farts and then eats, then spits up then I change his diaper/clothes and he eats some more and then farts and then sleeps for a while and I find something else to do until he wakes up to start the cycle all over again.

He is around 12 lbs now; we weighed him on our home scale. I cannot believe how different he is from Georgia. It must be the difference between boys and girls. He is just so much more than she was.  He is bigger, he is stronger, he eats more, and he has stinkier farts. It is amazing to us.

Last night was an adventure in parenting. Woo Hoo! Dylan was having a hardtime sleeping, Georgia was having a hardtime sleeping. I think Georgia is experiencing growing pains. I used to get them really bad as a kid. She slept on the floor of our room last night & the night before, she will not sleep in our bed, imagine that!

So there she is on the floor, now she is like any other toddler, she migrates while she sleeps, so we do the usual barricade with pillows thing. We have steps that lead downstairs in the middle of our large bedroom. Unfortunately, the stairs are very near our bed. Well, in the middle of the night, only 30 minutes from the last time I was up with Dylan, Dwayne suddenly flies out of the bed, from a belly laying position, landing on his belly at the top of the stairs with his arms extending down. Georgia is somewhere in the darkness of the stairway crying. I jump out of bed, not really knowing what is going on, what Dwayne knows that I don’t and why he and Georgia are on the steps. Of course, my first thought is, “Did Georgia fall down the steps?” he says sleepily while still trying to reach Georgia, “I don’t know.”.  It seemed like forever, but finally he got her up to the top. Then she was crying for me.

Nobody knows whether she was going downstairs and got lost or if she took a little tumble down some of the steps. Dwayne seems to think she was kind of laying on one of the steps just at the tip of his reach. Georgia has no recollection, she will just repeat what ever I ask her.

I still don’t know how she got beyond the barricade. We will have to get better next time.

  • The growing pains can be the worse,It was Paul for me, I would put him in the tub with warm water and just massage his legs and get him all relaxed before bed, it really helped him. Love the famous face shots. You were right, I do always have something to say!

  • I think you're fantastic the way you've just had a baby and are out gardening, looking after Georgia. I hope i have as much energy as you - Supermum!
