  • We put in applications are three different places this weekend. Hopefully one will come through for us.
    First choice:
3 br 2.5 ba 1800 sq ft house hardwood with nice yard, two car garage & raised vegetable beds

    Second Choice:
2 Br 2ba  2060 sqft house (looks like a town house) two car garage, small yard. This place has an enormous fam room upstairs with the bedrooms that looks more like a large master than a family room. Which is just how we would use it.

    Third Choice:
    A.k.a Smokey House
This place reminds me of any house circa 1980. Shag carpet in a muddled brown & beige, popcorn ceilings with accent mirror around dining room light fixture. Faux brick wall in kitchen the list goes on…smells like a 30 years of ciggarrette smoke to boot.  It could work with a paint job, ceilings included & steam clean. The owners are really keen to us & motivated for anyone to be in the place. Our advanatage.

We also put in for some help from the relocation service.

Dwayne has a second interview with Target. I hemmed his brand new suit for him on sunday. He is going to look sharp. He feels it is a bit much for an interview at target, but it never hurts to be over dressed. People will only snicker at you, to be underdressed is another sort, you can lose the spot entirely. We joked about him dressing in a suit every day & the funny extra fabric in stratigic places within the suit to absorb sweat. Dylan exclaimed, “Daddy you look like a MAN!” We all laughed so hard.

    So here we are.
    Pray for us.

If I could I would buy you all a Coke to go with my smile.

  • Today has been a real winner.

I had a presentation at work first thing in the morning, I
got to work then realized I did not know where the hell it was being held. I
was thankful for my “always early” habit, wishing I had a little more in the
way of preparedness. I found the room, gave the presentation. After which
someone told me there were still clueless people in the room.  The content had to do with my former role, I
had already taught a 5 hr session on the subject while in China just a few
    months ago.

Then I called my buddy for lunch. It was nice to see her. I
had a turkey sandwich & thanks to a particularly stubborn piece of crust, I
broke a crown. In the front.  Next to my
two front teeth. I called a dentist that was recommended to me, we discovered
that said crown, and just installed the first week of Aug is absolutely
trashed. I have two options, glue it in place then wait for my next insurance
cycle to come along…April 09 to get a dental IMPLANT. Or  get scheduled for a dental IMPLANT now and be
toothless for a while.  I opted for glue.
    200 bucks services rendered.

On the way home, tears streaming down my face talking to my
husband, the realtor called about the house. We did not get it. The homeowners
did not want to “take a chance” with us. They are concerned about Dwayne being
    unemployed.

We looked at a house yesterday that had an awful layout, brown
shag carpet & 20 yrs of cigarette smoke stained wall, ceilings etc.  The realtor really wants us to take it.
Apparently they are not getting much interest.

Our funds are running low. I am very nervous about having
enough money to pay all of the deposits that are needed to get us into a place
and support our family for the next while until Dwayne gets somewhere with all
of the resumes he has been sending out. I just can’t believe how much these
guys want for renting a house. We are talking about 3-5 grand! First month’s
rent, deposit & two dogs..it is ridiculous what they want.

On a positive note, we thought we would have to pay for
storage on our junk starting Oct 1st, but we are actually covered until
    Oct 10th.

    Today…I just want to cry.

I am making chicken noodle soup with lots of black pepper
for dinner. It always makes me happy.

  • We applied for a house. It is in Kent WA. It will be roughly
a 45 min commute for me but should provide some valuable reading time that I otherwise
do not get. The house is in the woods a bit, it sits on a acre & a half.
there is an apple tree, a plum tree & a cherry tree in the back yard.
Georgia is very excited. Dwayne still has not had any luck with work. No one
has even called him back yet. He seems discouraged though he is trying to stay
positive. We are excited to see his folks at the end of October. Hopefully we
will have the big house so they can stay with us. We went bowling with the
cousins over the weekend  for Emilee’s
birthday. Everyone had a really great time. It was the first time the kids had
gone bowling. It was quite a sight to see the two of them blank faced staring
at the lanes once we got inside. They were in complete amazement. It was
awesome! They did really great, Georgia even picked up a spare, Can you believe
    that!

  • If we don’t find a place soon I am going to lose my mind.
    The pressure is killing me.

  •     Unfortunate news. I cannot download any of the pictures we have been taking because I let the packers pack up the cord to the camera. I am going to go to the store tonight to see if I can find a stick that will read my memory card or something like that to get the pictures out to you.
Dwayne has taken a few shots on his fancy new phone : instinct

    Here they are:
These are from the moving day, Dwayne found some old sombreros in the garage.

The kids loved getting on their motorcycle

Georgia looks like she is almost ready for it

Pre-flight arrangements:  I think the flight would have been smoother if I could have transported them this way…but only the dogs got so lucky.

This is a pic in the apartment that we are in. The kids got up on morning and did not wake Dwayne up. The layout of the apartment segregates the master bedroom from the rest of the house which provided the perfect cover for mischief while Dwayne slept.
So the day before, I had gone out a bought some croft supplies, glue, construction paper etc. which was scattered around the dining room table. They woke up this particular morning and went to the table to craft. Then at some point, Georgia decided to give Dylan a little hair cut. She cut his bangs off leaving his side curls pretty much intact. It was like a weird mullet. Dwayne has a picture. I will add it at some point. At any rate, then Georgia decided she needed a trim too and turned the scissors on herself, cutting her bangs off. I let them run around for a week before taking any action. They looked like little EMO kids with chopped up hair. I cried.  Yesterday, I decided to buy some clippers & buzz Dylan’s head. It went well. He was very glad, for whatever reason, I have no idea. But I cried the whole time & then off & on throughout the rest of the night. It was like the end of him being a baby. Now he has officially become a little boy.

    Isn’t he cute?

  • We have arrive in Seattle, safe & sound.

It was quite a wild trip. There were delays with the “mom,
kids & dogs flight” and there were delays with the “dad, turtles &
plants road trip”, but we made it.

We are out at Mercer Island in temporary housing. It is
beautiful. Good Lord it is amazing how beautiful it is.

The kids have been picking blackberries everyday turning
fingers & t-shirts purple with juice. The kids love going to Uncle Doug’s
house, playing with the cousins. As I get back into the sing I will surely post
    stories of the adventures.

The 1966 tempest arrived Monday at Doug’s, and Tuesday there
was a complaint note, so Dwayne went down to move it to the garage area. I knew
it would not be long.  It is going to be
great to see it come alive, as I have only seen it as a rusty old green junker.
    I see the vision.

Yesterday, Georgia decided it was high time for a hair cut
for her & Dylan. Now Dylan’s curls are gone & she has bangs. I have to
admit it could have been much worse, if you didn’t know you wouldn’t be able to
    tell.

In other news, I realized recently that I deleted every
single infant photo of my dear son before I left KY, therefore  not retrievable at this point. We are now
missing April 2006 – March 2007. I have reached out to my step-mom Brenda
because I think I burned all the photos on disk for her to do a scrap book for
the kids.  HIGH HOPES for a good result.

tomorrow is the yardsale and cook out. i am excited to have everyone over. it will be a blast.

  • We got info on the relocation package. It is decent. Dwayne & I will be traveling out to look around this weekend. It is our 5th wedding anniversary on Saturday. There are so many plans to set. It is a whirlwind.
Tomorrow is chock full of appointments. First is Dylan’s visit to Shriner’s Hospital to see if his knock knees are bad enough for therapy. Then a yearly physical for me, whoo. The racing home for appointment with Property Management company. It will be full & busy. I took the day off, most likely work from home for a few hours later in the day.
The garden is full of fruit. We have a few cukes, tomatoes & potatoes. The beets are looking great. I am really hoping to do some pickling before we jet. I know it sounds crazy, but next weekend, I hope to have enough cukes to pickle. Salsa is totally out. There is no way I will have all of the ‘maters I need before we go. No matter how much I water. Kinda sux. oh well.
    I am beat.
