  • Today has been a real winner.

I had a presentation at work first thing in the morning, I
got to work then realized I did not know where the hell it was being held. I
was thankful for my “always early” habit, wishing I had a little more in the
way of preparedness. I found the room, gave the presentation. After which
someone told me there were still clueless people in the room.  The content had to do with my former role, I
had already taught a 5 hr session on the subject while in China just a few
    months ago.

Then I called my buddy for lunch. It was nice to see her. I
had a turkey sandwich & thanks to a particularly stubborn piece of crust, I
broke a crown. In the front.  Next to my
two front teeth. I called a dentist that was recommended to me, we discovered
that said crown, and just installed the first week of Aug is absolutely
trashed. I have two options, glue it in place then wait for my next insurance
cycle to come along…April 09 to get a dental IMPLANT. Or  get scheduled for a dental IMPLANT now and be
toothless for a while.  I opted for glue.
    200 bucks services rendered.

On the way home, tears streaming down my face talking to my
husband, the realtor called about the house. We did not get it. The homeowners
did not want to “take a chance” with us. They are concerned about Dwayne being
    unemployed.

We looked at a house yesterday that had an awful layout, brown
shag carpet & 20 yrs of cigarette smoke stained wall, ceilings etc.  The realtor really wants us to take it.
Apparently they are not getting much interest.

Our funds are running low. I am very nervous about having
enough money to pay all of the deposits that are needed to get us into a place
and support our family for the next while until Dwayne gets somewhere with all
of the resumes he has been sending out. I just can’t believe how much these
guys want for renting a house. We are talking about 3-5 grand! First month’s
rent, deposit & two dogs..it is ridiculous what they want.

On a positive note, we thought we would have to pay for
storage on our junk starting Oct 1st, but we are actually covered until
    Oct 10th.

    Today…I just want to cry.

I am making chicken noodle soup with lots of black pepper
for dinner. It always makes me happy.

  • I have two implant sites. One's a double post, the other is a single, but I have not been able to afford to get the actual tooth on it yet, so it's a metal thingie sticking out of my gums. No biggie--it can wait. But, I wanted to tell you, the implants are great--absolutely fantastic, in fact--though the procedure is tough--and in the front it'd be tougher, I'd think. They're well worth the money compared to a bridge, etc. If you're not brave and haven't endured things like root canals and such (it's a bit more/worse than a root canal), have them knock you out. And they're not cheap--lke $3000 each!

Sorry life is tough right now. Thing's'll look up, I promise.

  • ah dude, I'm sorry. Seattle...argh. The housing market is horrible. Where are you working? Since your husband is currently unemployeed, I'd ditched the real estate agent (I wouldn't trust a real estate agent with my life right now) and look for yourselves.

Two of the 'cheaper' areas in seattle (that aren't scary) are University District and Ballard.

    example:

I bet that's current student housing. They don't say anything about dogs, but a lot of landlords would prefer to have a stable family (with two dogs) than a bunch of students, so it doesn't hurt to talk to them yourselves.

Anyhow, I'm also unemployeed and know the area somewhat--and while this may sound weird, I'm harmless--let me know if you want me to gleen through the craigslist options for you or your husband to contact and check out? (I think that stuff is kind of fun).

But--whatever happens, good luck. And I hope your tooth is okay.

there's another one--might be too small, but damn it's cute!
